A pet tortoise escaped a fire that destroyed the shed she lives in after a heat lamp fell and ignited her enclosure in Southern California.
Security camera footage shows the female tortoise, Leo, scurrying to safety as the blaze burns behind her.
Leo’s owner joked on TikTok that the tortoise was in “sports mode,” adding that he was at a friend’s Super Bowl party when the fire started. He’s warning other tortoise owners to secure their heat lamps.
