Minnesota Governor Tim Walz urged Americans to tone down their rhetoric and reject settling differences through gunfire, emphasizing unity and civil debate as core to the nation’s strength. However, Walz has contributed to inflammatory rhetoric himself, such as urging followers to “get meaner” and “ferociously push back” against conservative policies.
And then, during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) argued that rights come from the Constitution and laws, not from a Creator, calling the latter view “radical and dangerous” and comparing it to theocratic regimes like in Iran.
