If you’re anything like us, from the moment you first saw Elon Musk unveil his brand new Cybertruck… your initial reaction was something like… “What in the heck inspired THAT thing?? It looks like a Porygon and Ford F150 had a baby!” Everything about it screamed “look at me! I’m trying to be futuristic!” From the angles, to the vibe, to the wheels, to… well, just about everything! The car certainly made a statement when it was unveiled by Tesla in 2019. But here’s the thing… something actually DID inspire Mr. Musk to make the car look this way. And Musk claims his inspiration dates all the way back to 1977, when he was designing his electric truck of the future. So, what is he talkin about? That would be the James Bond car found in the classic film, The Spy Who Loved Me, which was a huge hit back in the time of its release. Apparently, it was this equally angular vehicle that inspired Mr. Musk when he went to the drawing board for the Cybertruck. And while aesthetically it may not be your thing, we gotta say, the entire story behind it is pretty incredible. Especially because Musk ended up buying the actual submarine car from the movie… for one million dollars. Stick around, we’re sure you’ll get a kick out of today’s video, whether you are a fan of the cybertruck, or if you think it’s the strangest looking car ever made! (Honestly, maybe in this case, the car is a little bit of both!)
